The best weekends are long weekends and the most relaxing way to spend that time off is at the beach! Having just returned from a weekend away at Lorne, VIC, I am feeling rested and reinspired! My parents arrived from NZ early on Saturday morning and after staying at our place overnight, we packed up and got on the road early so as to enjoy the warm weekend weather. Lorne is beautiful and we spent two days eating, drinking and savouring the sunshine! More pics to come but I couldn't resist snapping these early morning surfers as we strolled along the sand with our coffee...x

Sunshine always makes me feel like breaking out into colour and Isabel Marant's SS12 collections fit my mood perfectly. Beautiful pattern, fabulous fabrics and just enough attitude to make you feel that special sense of Parisian cool. Check out Isabel Marant here for both the spring/summer and Etoile 2012 collections...x

Today I entered the Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards...scary! Submitting my post-grad book The Terrace, I'm entered in the Written Word category and all the images above are from this body of work. Check out the competition at soya.com.au and to see my entry follow www.soya.com.au/entrants/10158199...any support would be much appreciated! x

Last year I began a series of posts about my trip to Europe with my family. Finally, here's part two...Latvia. This was certainly the most special part of our journey, seeing my grandmother revisit places and memories that had been lost to her for 67 years. Here are a few of my favourite portraits of her as she explores her homeland...x

For Glamour UK's February issue, Clemence Poesy is photographed by David Oldham in one of the most beautifully girly editorials I have seen for a long time. The pastels, the balloons, the cute kitsch bicycle and those fabulous check pumps, all add up to a perfect girls day out...x

I have always been envious of those who can draw. Although I went to Fine Arts school, my skill with a piece of paper and a pencil is limited at best. So when I sit at my desk during the day to flick through my favourite blogs, I always tend to linger on those that feature fashion illustration. My first love will always be photography, but there is something so whimsical about fashion captured beautifully with a fine pen and a few careful strokes. If you haven't heard of Teri Chung yet, keep your eyes peeled. Definitely the next big illustrator to come our way...x

I don't think I have ever come across an editorial that involved Erin Wasson that I didn't like...she is phenomenal! Here, she once again returns as the face of Zadig & Voltaire for their SS12 campaign. Photographed by Fred Meylan, Wasson is pictured romping around an ornate French-style manor in equally cool denim cut-offs, sequined blazers and her trademark loose fitting white shirt. If you haven't checked out Zadig & Voltaire before now, get the look here.

There is something so chic about denim and black. We are all guilty of reverting to top to toe black ensembles when we discover we have nothing to wear in the morning...but after seeing the simple denim shirt pop up all over the place, I'm tempted to drag mine out and break up the black next time I'm staring blankly into my wardrobe!

I love it when fashion can poke fun at itself and when I discovered these images on vogue.co.uk this morning, it truly made me smile! Italian illustrator Alexsandro Palombo has recreated the most powerful and influential figures in the fashion world as everyones favourite yellow cartoon characters, The Simpsons. I wonder what Anna, Grace, Karl and Diane think about their tribute...x

Miu Miu has once again tapped into the brilliance of using upcoming talent to showcase their new collection by selecting Australian actress Mia Wasikowska as the new face of their SS12 campaign. Fine featured Mia undergoes a powerful transformation from girl-next-door to colourful fashion goddess...and with her smokey eyes and porcelain skin she is a perfect fit!

Although the trend of coloured hair and dip-dyed strands has been around for the last couple of years now, it doesn't seem to be fading too quickly. I first fell in love with the idea of pink hair when Abbey-Lee fronted the March 2010 issue of Vogue Australia and since then, candy coloured locks have cropped up all over the place. While I'm probably not game enough to test this look out on myself, I still remain drawn to editorials and fashion blogs that highlight this fun fad...x

Images are all my own
So...due to the beautiful weather this past weekend, blogging sort of went out the window for a couple of days while I enjoyed the sun. However, on Saturday afternoon I got the opportunity to stop in at Melbourne Cafe and Restaurant Not All There to watch street artist Ed Bechervaise create a brand new mural for the back wall. Ed is famous for his Unwell Bunny theme and at Not All There he once again incorporated this element into his work. The renovations were completed over the weekend and I cannot wait to try the famous Spanish fare in the cool rustic surroundings. Not All There opens up again this week, breakfast, lunch and dinner, Monday-Saturday.
For more info on Ed's work, visit his blog at edbechervaise.blogspot.com and you can find Not All There at 200 Wells Street, Southbank, Melbourne...x
